Mike Marzano moved to Colorado in 2010 from Hampton Bays, New York.
He started his fire career as a Vermont State firefighter in 1989. He later transferred to the city of Hampton Bays where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, Mike was called upon during the 9/11 attacks to bring his technical rescue experience to the recovery efforts of the World Trade Center. Mike decided to make the transition to Colorado to obtain a greater focus on wildland fire, but still have the opportunity to utilize his structure firefighting expertise.

Mike has two adult children still living in New York and enjoys visiting them whenever time allows. In February 2012, Mike became the Lyons Fire Protection District Recruitment and Retention Officer and is in charge of recruiting new members and maintaining the current staff moral. When Mike is not putting all his hard work in at LFPD, he enjoys skiing, hiking, biking and mountain climbing.
